Sea Salt

I love the briny taste you get from sea salts vs. rock salts like Himalayan pink salt. San Juan Island Sea Salt has a very briny and mineral like taste. When you have this salt in your hands it almost feels like wet sand (Don't worry, it's not actually wet).I prefer to use this salt as a finishing salt on my vegetables. It adds a great taste to seafood like ceviche and a pinch on fresh oysters. It also taste great with margaritas or adding a little to your Mexican beer (preferably Corona).I live in Washington state. We have Jacobsen Salt (Oregon), and San Juan Island Salt (Washington) in this region. I really like them both, but use them differently. I would recommend San Juan Island Salt to anyone looking for a great USA finishing salt. I will be ordering their favored salts to try them out.

Bought these originally in a kitchen store in the San Juan Islands. Was so sad when the last few flakes were used that I requested this as a gift for my birthday. Love the flake on the salt. Large flakes but not too thick so perfect for finishing a dish or a sweet.
